We're holding our first Learn IoT Community Meetup in New York!
This is a hands on evening workshop, manipulating the Renesas S5D9 IoT Fast Prototyping Kit. Free or heavily discounted IoT hardware will be available for those who RSVP and participate in the hands on training.
To RSVP, just reply to this post
Include full name, email address, and affiliation. If you wish to keep your contact information private, you can direct message @jcasman or email email@example.com.
Date and Location
Date: Wednesday, November 29, from 6:45pm to 8:45pm
Location: Manhattan College, Riverdale, NY - Leo Engineering Building, Room 216
Transportation Information: Driving or taking public transportation
Boards and sensors are provided for use during the meetup are free of charge to all. But you must bring your own laptop.
We'll give a short initial introduction, and then the participants will dive into the tutorials, going at their own pace. You get a chance to work on a board, ask questions, and make progress right there.
First tutorial: Data Monitoring (15 - 30 minutes) - Connect the board to the Internet, monitor sensor data from the board in a pre-built dashboard. Then customize the dashboard with your own widgets and data. Publish to the Discussion section of Learn IoT Community site - https://codetricity.github.io/s5d9-hacking/monitoring/starting/
Second tutorial: Data Monitoring API (15 - 30 minutes) - Walk through the Data Monitoring API and connect it to IBM’s Watson Text to Speech functionality - http://learn.iotcommunity.io/t/using-speech-in-your-iot-projects/1368
Third tutorial: Data Intelligence (60+ minutes) - Toggle and blink LEDs using Renesas IoT Sandbox, send customized email reports automatically - https://codetricity.github.io/s5d9-hacking/intelligence/diagnostics/
